It is not a material for a beginner sculptor or carpenter. It creates problems when gluing, but is easy to polish. It is resistant to wear, weather conditions, moisture, fungi and pests. The products made of it are durable. Contact with wood dust can cause asthma, irritate the skin and eyes. Ebony trees grow quickly and reach a height of 20 meters. They grow wild most often, although they are cultivated. An interesting fact is that some ebony species have edible fruits – for example, sharon available in Poland. The most valuable and the most popular is black wood. It is worth knowing that the natural colours of the ebony can be: grey, brown, greenish. It has a regular drawing of rings which significantly improves its appearance. It becomes much more visually attractive in this way. So nothing but benefit.
